World of Hyatt Credit Card: up to two free nights a year, and how it fits with Chase points

The World of Hyatt Credit Card costs $95 a year and gives a Category 1–4 free night every anniversary, plus a second one after $15,000 of spending. What the welcome offer really adds, what the nights are worth, and how the card fits with a household's Chase points.

The World of Hyatt Credit Card is the Chase card that earns Hyatt points directly. Its value for most households is not the earning rate but the free nights: one every year, and a second if you spend enough. Here is what the card offers, what its welcome bonus adds once you read the terms, and where it fits next to Chase Ultimate Rewards points.

The offer, in Chase's words

  • Welcome bonus: up to 60,000 points. Chase: "30,000 Bonus Points after you spend $3,000 on purchases in your first 3 months of account opening and up to 30,000 more Bonus Points by earning 2 Bonus Points total per $1 spent in the first 6 months from account opening on purchases that normally earn 1 Bonus Point, on up to $15,000 spent."
  • Annual fee: $95.

This is the offer as Chase showed it on October 1, 2026. Check the current offer before you apply.

What the "up to 30,000 more" adds

The second part of the offer counts points you would earn anyway. The terms: "You'll earn 2 World of Hyatt Bonus Points for each $1 USD spent on all other purchases for the first 6 months from account opening, or until you reach $15,000 on those purchases, whichever occurs first."

Everyday purchases already earn 1 point per $1. The offer adds a second point, on up to $15,000 of spending. So:

Everyday spending in the first 6 monthsPoints earned on itExtra from the offer
$5,00010,0005,000
$10,00020,00010,000
$15,00030,00015,000

The 30,000-point bonus for $3,000 of spending is the fixed part. The rest is worth up to 15,000 extra points, and only if you spend $15,000 on the card in six months.

The free nights

Every year: "Receive one free night at any Category 1–4 Hyatt hotel or resort every year after your cardmember anniversary."

A second one for spending: "As a one-time bonus each calendar year, you, as the primary cardmember, will earn a Category 1 through 4 Free Night Award after you spend $15,000 in purchases."

The terms that decide how useful they are:

  • Category 1 to 4 only. Each award is "good for one (1) night in any available standard room" at a Category 1 to 4 hotel or resort. It is "not valid at properties in any other category or at Miraval, Hyatt Zilara or Hyatt Ziva resorts," and the terms describe no way to add points for a higher category.
  • Twelve months to use it. The night must be booked "with a checkout date before the expiration date of the award," which is 12 months from issue.
  • Categories can change. "Hyatt reserves the right to reclassify any hotel or resort at any time," though a reclassification does not affect a night you have already booked.
  • For the primary cardmember. "An authorized user will not receive this Free Night Award."

An award is worth the points price of the night you book with it. Before you count one in a plan, look up the category and points price of a hotel you would actually stay at on Hyatt's site.

Status and earning

  • Status: Discoverist while the card is open, plus "5 World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits" each calendar year and "2 World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits for every $5,000 in Purchases."
  • Earning: 4 points per $1 at Hyatt hotels; 2 per $1 "at restaurants, on airline tickets purchased directly from airlines, on local transit and commuting (taxis, mass transit, tolls, parking, ride-share), and on fitness club & gym memberships"; 1 per $1 on everything else.

Who can get the bonus

Chase: "The credit card is not available to either (i) current Cardmembers of this credit card, or (ii) previous Card members of this credit card who received a new Card member bonus for this credit card within the last 24 months."

Unlike Chase's IHG and Marriott cards, the rule names only this card. Each person in a household is judged on their own history.

How it fits with Chase Ultimate Rewards

Hyatt points also come from Chase Ultimate Rewards transfers, and from October 1, 2026 the rate depends on the card that holds them. Sapphire Preferred and Ink Business Preferred points transfer at 4:3, while the Sapphire Reserve is reported to keep 1:1. Our guide to the Chase to Hyatt transfer ratio by card has the details.

Two Chase rules shape how a couple uses that:

  • Points can move within a household. Chase: "with an eligible Chase credit card, you may be able to transfer points to a spouse or somebody else in your household." Combining into the Reserve holder's account before transferring gets the better rate.
  • Transfers are one way. Points move "in increments of 1,000," and "point transfers to travel partners are final." Transfer when you are ready to book, not before.

The Hyatt card's own points land in the cardholder's World of Hyatt account. Send Ultimate Rewards to the same person's Hyatt account and both kinds of points are in one place when you book.
